Prints are limited to 46 total in this variable edition, black oil-based ink printed on orange cardstock and handmarbled using the Suminagashi japanese water marbling technique. To alter paper using suminagashi, an oil based ink is dropped onto the surface of water and dispersed with a water/soap mixture to create concentric rings and swirls. The airflow in the room and the artist’s movements and breath also play a part in the patterns that are created.
Each print is unique as part of the hand inking and printing process, with little quirks and variations but all of the same high craftsmanship standards. Each print has a different level of marbling, with different effects and ink coverage on each one.
Every print comes signed and editioned.
